What Is New in HubSpot

HubSpot's Spring 2026 Spotlight in a Nutshell

HubSpot's 2026 theme is value: using the context already inside your CRM to produce smarter, more personalised output.

  • AEO (Answer Engine Optimisation) is a brand new tool that helps your business show up in ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity, not just Google.

  • The Prospecting Agent has been rebuilt end-to-end to handle research, buying signal detection, committee mapping, and personalised outreach automatically.

  • Breeze Assistant now lets you build custom AI assistants trained on your own business content.

  • Smart Deal Progression and an upgraded Customer Agent cut down on admin and support workload across your teams.

  • AutomateNow, as a Diamond HubSpot Solutions Partner, helps businesses get their portals in shape to make the most of what is coming

Why Does the Spring 2026 Spotlight Matter?

Twice a year, HubSpot releases a Spotlight. Spring and then again at Inbound in the Autumn. Each one tells you where the platform is heading next.

This year, the theme is VALUE. Not AI for the sake of AI. Real, usable output built on the context your business already has.

As Bart Kowalczyk explained in the latest AutomateNow podcast IN Episode 30"HubSpot realised that unlike the majority of ChatGPTs, Geminis, all of the AIs, business doesn't get any value, just quite a lot of noise. And what they want to focus on is value."

So, What Is HubSpot AEO and Why Does It Matter Now?

For years, the marketing playbook was clear. Rank on Google, optimise your website, drive traffic. Your website was the measure of everything. That world is shifting. Buyers are now typing full questions into ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity. The companies that appear in those AI-generated answers are getting in front of buyers before their competitors even know an enquiry exists.

HubSpot AEO (Answer Engine Optimisation) is the tool that helps you manage that. It shows you how often and how accurately your brand appears in AI answers, where the gaps are, and what content you need to create to close them. Your website still matters, but it is no longer the whole picture. Reddit, YouTube, reviews, and LinkedIn mentions all feed how AI tools see and recommend your brand.

"The goal now is to get recommended by AI. It is not only your website, but your brand mentions. How often your brand is mentioned across YouTube, LinkedIn and others." says Bart

What HubSpot AEO includes:

1. Prompt tracking to see what buyers are asking in AI Tools.

2. Competitor visibility comparison

3. A brand visibility dashboard across multiple AI Engines

4. Content recommendations to close your gaps

5. Citation tracking across channels

What Has Changed With Breeze Assistant?

Breeze Assistant is HubSpot's AI tool that sits across the platform and helps with content, campaigns, and prospecting. This spring, you can now build your own custom assistants inside HubSpot, trained on your own business content.

Think of it as building your own specialist. An onboarding guide for new hires. A prospecting playbook for your sales team. A product knowledge base any rep can query before a call. You build it once and your whole team benefits.

Bart was direct about where it stands: "We've tested this out and it is getting better. There are some gaps, but context will create real value for all users. AI without any context is basically spam."

What you can build with custom Breeze assistants:

1. Onboarding guides for new Employees

2. Sales prospecting playbooks

3. Product and service knowledge bases

4. Campaign planning resources

How Has the Prospecting Agent Been Improved?

The Prospecting Agent has been part of HubSpot for about a year. This spring it has been rebuilt into a proper end-to-end tool.

It now identifies your best prospects from your CRM data, detects buying signals like job postings and funding rounds, maps the full buying committee, and drafts personalised outreach based on real signals, either sending automatically or waiting for your approval. You can also connect third-party sources like Apollo for additional context.

Bart highlighted exactly why this matters: "Number one, wasted time on manual search and research. Number two, an incomplete buyer committee. And instead of generic outreach that gets ignored, HubSpot will now use your context to give you more precise outreach."

What Are Smart Deal Progression and Customer Agent?

Two more updates worth knowing about, even if they did not get the headline treatment.

Smart Deal Progression watches your call recordings and deal activity, fills in CRM properties based on what was actually discussed, and suggests next steps. Less manual updating, more focus on selling.

Customer Agent becomes more capable this spring, drawing on everything in your CRM to handle inbound support queries more accurately. Teams can now control its tone, working hours, and which ticket types it handles first. For teams where the support queue grows faster than headcount, this is a practical answer.

As Bart noted: "System will look for the data based on your behaviours and will help you to move that deal forward and fill out all of the properties based on your conversations."

What Else Is Coming to HubSpot This Spring?

Beyond the headline features, there is a solid list of smaller updates. Reddit and TikTok integrations for social listening. WhatsApp gets its own home inside HubSpot. A Chrome extension for calling keeps reps in one place. Historic email import means a new rep sees the full relationship history from day one. Deal properties can now appear inside forms, and forecast data pulls directly into reports without manual exports.

Individually, none of these are dramatic. Together, they remove a lot of daily friction.

In Summary: It All Comes Back to Context

Every feature in this Spotlight works better when your CRM data is clean, consistent, and actively used. Bart summed it up well in the podcast: "All the context is within your CRM. If you record all of the calls, if your teams are using all of the functions around HubSpot, then you have got the context. It is just a matter of using it."

Teams that have been disciplined about logging calls and keeping records updated will feel these features working straight away. Teams carrying years of messy data will hit the ceiling just as quickly.

To hear Bart's full breakdown, listen to the latest AutomateNow podcast and if you want to talk about what any of this means for your own HubSpot setup, we are happy to have that conversation. Even if we never work together, you will leave with more clarity than when you started.
